SHOE LACE

This morning as I was getting ready for office, my son was getting ready for his school beside me. He is in 7th std, but I still see the tiny baby boy whom I first saw in the hospital 11 years ago. He wore his uniform and his shoes, and in a few seconds tied his shoe laces.
I recalled an incident just 4 years back. This same boy was dressed for school and was putting on his shoes. His mother used to tie his shoelaces for him. That day his mother asked him to tie his laces himself. The little boy struggled for some time and sat with a sad expression on his face. I just asked him one question " my dear, is it too difficult ?".

And the boy broke into tears and started weeping. My wife consoled him and tied the laces for him. He was happy and went to school.

Oh, so much time has passed, the boy has grown up. I realise, the little boy has now become a tall boy with confidence brimming in his moves and stride.
But still in my mind, he is the little baby boy. Maybe, it will be like that always
